Snow-aged sake will be released from the brewery on May 20th!
It's a rainy day in Nagaoka City. The ivy on the Tsunekura shed sways in the raindrops, looking rather chilly.
Today, we have an announcement regarding the release of seasonal products from our warehouse.
Starting tomorrow, Wednesday the 20th, our "Snow-Aged Sake" will be released from the brewery!
This snow-aged sake is released in limited quantities every year around this time.
At the beginning of this year, we brewed sake in freezing cold weather.
As the name suggests, it was carefully stored in a snow cellar.
Storing it in a snow cellar allows it to mature properly, resulting in a smooth, rounded mouthfeel with rounded edges.
The flavor is mild, but the aroma is fresh!
That's because the rice used in the preparation was freshly harvested new rice from Niigata Prefecture.
The snow cellar seals in the fresh aroma of the young rice, preventing it from escaping.
As we head towards summer, the temperature will gradually rise.
If you drink this sake while imagining the snow falling deeply and accumulating,
You're sure to feel refreshed by the cool scenery!
Drinking it in early summer while thinking about winter is quite a delightful experience.
This sake is aged using a storage method unique to Niigata, a snowy region.
We will be offering two types: ginjo sake and junmai sake.
It comes in a full range of sizes: 300ml, 720ml, and 1800ml.
The tax-inclusive price applies to both ginjo and junmai sake.
The prices are 486 yen for 300ml, 1,080 yen for 720ml, and 2,376 yen for 1800ml.
Due to the size and nature of the snow storage facility, there is a limit to the amount that can be stored.
This item is available in limited quantities compared to other seasonal products.
Since it will only be available while supplies last, be sure to try it as soon as possible!
