I went to "Kaiho Takadanobaba," a restaurant specializing in oysters and fish!

Hello. I will be in charge of the "I went out drinking" blog this time.
I'm Nonnosuke, a first-dan in the Yoshinogawa school of martial arts.

Although I am still inexperienced, I will do my best to aim for promotion in rank in the future.
Thank you very much for your cooperation.

It's springtime!

So, I couldn't help but climb a tree. This is the kind of character I am. Please remember me.
By the way, the place where I encountered the tree was in Tokyo.Shinjuku Ward, TakadanobabaThat is correct.
To enjoy a good drink, you should start with some exercise. So, I took a short stroll around the area.

Beautiful flowers were in bloom. Shinjuku Ward is surprisingly green.
Once you leave the main road, the air feels so much better.

blog_08

Oh, the [something] on this slope.
When I was a kid, I used to think they'd explode if I stepped on them, so I'd always try to avoid them.
Looking back now, that couldn't possibly have happened.
It's just a non-slip surface.

blog_09

Nanamezaka
This name comes from the fact that it is a winding slope.
Legend has it that in ancient times, when Minamoto no Yoritomo set up camp nearby, he had this slope opened up in order to scout out the enemy forces.

That was the note I received. It seems there aren't actually seven turns.

blog_10

Speaking of corners, here's a photo of a lovely corner.
Unfortunately, my camera skills were poor, and the photos didn't turn out as well as they should have...

blog_11

I was wandering around this area.

  blog_12 blog_13blog_14

Grab! What a post.carp streamerfull.Teppo ShrineThere was also something like that.

I walked quite a bit. About two hours, I think.
Actually, I hurt my rectus femoris muscle when I climbed a tree, and combined with my lack of exercise, my leg hurts so much (tears).

And to top it off, I also got some scrapes on my arm... Adults shouldn't climb trees.
But if there's a tree there, I can't help wanting to climb it. I must have been a ninja in a past life.

Well, after quite a detour, I've finally arrived at my destination!
That said, if you go straight there, it's only a 2-minute walk from the station! You're taking way too many detours!
I finally made my long-awaited visit here!

sea!

blog_15

No,
It is written as "Treasure of the Sea,"
KaihouThat's the shop!
blog_16

This is what the inside of the store looks like.

They also have outdoor seating where you can enjoy the smoky atmosphere! It's cold today, so we're inside.

Oh.
blog_21

Oh my!?

blog_22

Found it!!!!

blog_23

Oh, I found it!

blog_24
Of course, one cup! I'd like to place an order! The staff came over right away.
Besides a glass of Yoshinogawa barrel-aged sake, I also ordered some beer, some dishes recommended by the staff, and a few other items based on my own personal preferences and biases.

blog_25
The chopstick rest is also lovely and has a Japanese design.

blog_26 blog_27
Ah, here it comes! (*゚∀゚*)
This is the appetizer!

blog_28

Cheers! Mmm, wonderful. This barrel-aged sake has a lovely, subtle woody aroma.
The sake cup is important too. It looks great! It's incredibly light. Is it made of washi paper coated with lacquer?

Now, this time,Barrel-aged sakeI had it chilled.
By the way, as many of you may already know, chilled sake and chilled sake are different things.
To put it simply, "hiya" means room temperature, and "reishu" means ice-cold. This time, it's room temperature.
It has a more pronounced aroma than chilled sake, making it ideal for barrel-aged sake.

As a side note, if you want to enjoy the aroma of wood with chilled sake, I personally recommend using a wooden masu (wooden sake cup)!
Using a wooden masu (wooden sake cup) allows you to enjoy an aroma similar to barrel-aged sake, even with regular brewed sake!

Now, the appetizer appears to be dried tofu, quail eggs, and steamed shrimp simmered in broth.
(Sorry, I forgot to ask the name of the dish.) And then, I tasted it.

...Dashi,So delicious!
I ended up drinking it all without realizing it.

blog_29

And here it is!
Cream cheese marinated in tamari soy sauce.
I appreciate that they serve chilled food right away.

blog_30

It's incredibly delicious!!
I can drink alcohol with just tamari soy sauce or just cream cheese, but
These two collaborating have transformed it into a mellow, new kind of food! What is this?!

I asked the staff, and they said it really is just cream cheese marinated in tamari soy sauce.
I'm definitely going to try this at home. (*゚∀゚*)

blog_31
And then it cameFried oysters!
Huh? Is this really fried oysters?
It's so delicious! The inside is incredibly fluffy, and when you bite into it, the juice oozes out!

blog_32

Next up is this!
Grilled oysters!
Anchovies, tomatoes, cheese,
Basil and escargot are among them.

blog_33

It's like ajillo, and even the broth is incredibly delicious!
Oh, I've only been saying "delicious"...
With just one bite, the vast scent of the ocean fills your mouth, and so on and so forth, but you probably don't understand what I mean!
Good food is good food! That's all you need!

See? It's like this. The cheese is nice and gooey.
According to a sake expert, cheese pairs well with sake.
Apparently, things that go well with wine also go well with sake.

These days, sake is no longer just something that old men drink while watching Kohaku Uta Gassen under a kotatsu!
It's good for your skin, has a clean taste, and is stylish!

So, for all that said, Japanese sake is definitelyWe want women to feel comfortable with it too.
Is it tough?
That's right. It certainly has a higher alcohol content than beer, for example.
In that case, let's just dilute it and drink it (*゚∀゚*)
You can enjoy it on the rocks with ice, or mix it with your favorite juice to create your own cocktail.
It's also stylish when mixed with soda. This sake can actually be enjoyed in many different ways.

Please, please give it a try!

blog_34

And with that, I've finished eating.
The Yoshinogawa sake and the food were both absolutely delicious.
thank you very much!
