This was 56 years ago, in 1966 (Showa 41).
This is a collection of neon signs from various companies that were displayed throughout the Furumachi shopping district in Niigata City.
The neon sign for Yoshinogawa that was once displayed also makes an appearance (1:15-1:35).
It appears that this photo was taken by an employee of Yoshinogawa at the time.
We have digitized the films that were stored in the library.
Please enjoy the warm yet dazzling colors of neon lights.
