March 7, 2022
Dear Customers
Yoshinogawa Co., Ltd.
Representative Director and President: Yuki Minemasa
Regarding measures taken in response to the outbreak of COVID-19 infections ("Temporary suspension of shipments" and temporary closure of the brewery)
On March 3rd, it was confirmed that one employee working at our head office had contracted the novel coronavirus infection.
Details regarding the circumstances and response are as follows:
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and trouble this may cause our customers, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
We sincerely ask for your cooperation.
Note
1. Infected person: One employee at the head office (no history of overseas travel)
2. Weft
On February 28, a family member of the employee developed a fever and was examined at a medical institution that same day.
A new virus infection was confirmed. The employee was instructed to stay home from work on the same day.
On March 3rd, the employee in question was confirmed to be infected with the novel coronavirus.
Disinfection will be carried out in the areas where the employee in question has been active, including the head office.
Although there are no individuals within our company who could be considered close contacts of the employee in question,
As a preventative measure, we conducted tests on all employees using commercially available antigen test kits (saliva type) that we had on hand.
Multiple individuals tested positive for COVID-19. (Asymptomatic) Disinfection of offices and factories has been carried out.
On March 4th, I consulted with the public health center and was told that commercially available test kits can produce false positives.
I was instructed to check the results of the PCR test at the medical institution.
All employees, including those who tested negative using antigen test kits, underwent PCR testing at a medical institution.
On March 6th, all individuals who underwent PCR testing were confirmed to have tested negative.
3. Response
(1) Antigen tests conducted on March 3rd for preventative purposes revealed that several individuals were asymptomatic.
Once a "positive" case is confirmed, we anticipate that it will affect shipments in the following week and beyond.
We have decided to suspend shipments from Tuesday, March 8th to Thursday, March 10th.
Additionally, the brewery will be temporarily closed from March 4th.
(2) As of March 6, no staff members have reported feeling unwell, such as having a fever, and in addition, at medical institutions, etc.
As a result of conducting PCR tests, all employees have tested negative, therefore the above measures have been lifted.
We will resume normal business operations starting today, March 7th.
Regarding the brewery, it will be closed for its regular day off and is scheduled to reopen on Wednesday, the 9th.
I sincerely apologize for causing everyone so much worry.
We intend to continue to make every effort to prevent infection, so please continue as before.
We appreciate your continued patronage.
That's all.
