Settaya Craft

Settsuya Craft

This craft beer is brewed by Yoshinogawa, a brewery founded in 1548.
Settsuya in Nagaoka City, the hometown of Yoshinogawa, is a "brewing town" where many breweries producing sake, miso, soy sauce, and other products are located.
The craft beer bearing that name is brewed at the Yoshinogawa "Sake Museum Brewery".

Craft beer brewed by a sake brewery.

"Settaya Craft" is a craft beer (sparkling alcoholic beverage) brewed by Yoshinogawa, a sake brewery founded in 1548. Taking advantage of the unique characteristics of a sake brewery, it uses rice koji as a secondary ingredient. It is carefully brewed with "Tenka Kanro-sen," the same brewing water used for sake. This craft beer expresses the local climate and culture, with a soft mouthfeel and a refreshing taste, thanks to the techniques cultivated in sake brewing. Each bottle is brewed with care in the brewery located within "Jozo."

I feel that this is typical of Yoshinogawa.
Three commitments

Head Brewer: Masato Kaneko
  • Group companies
    Uses fresh brewer's yeast

It uses "rice koji," which is also used in Yoshinogawa sake, as a secondary ingredient. Furthermore, for fermentation, it uses beer yeast from its group company, "Chuetsu Yeast Industry," which has cultivated fermentation technology for bread and beer. Being able to brew it in a consistently fresh state is another unique feature of "Settaya Craft."

  • The same brewing water used for sake is used.

Just like with Yoshinogawa's sake, we use "Tenka Kanro-sen," soft water drawn from our premises, for brewing. Please enjoy the gentle umami derived from the rice koji and the refreshing taste unique to sake brewing water.

  • Brewed at the sake museum "Jozo"

"Settaya Craft" is brewed in the brewery located at the back of the "Brewery Building." Depending on the season, you can watch the brewing process through the glass. The product name uses the name of Settaya in Nagaoka City, the hometown of Yoshinogawa. You can taste it at the "SAKE Bar" inside the building and purchase it at the shop.
